SPEXS is an EPSRC-funded Programme Grant, led by Heriot-Watt University, with partners from the Universities of Glasgow, Edinburgh and Sheffield.  SPEXS aims to address one of the key aspects of single-photon detection – that of increasing the wavelength region of detection into the Short-wave/Mid-Wave Infrared  to enhance a range of rapidly emerging applications in quantum technology, automotive lidar, and bio-photonics. The complementary expertise of the partners will be harnessed to provide solutions for a range of key future sensing requirements.
